Ministry Opportunities

Throughout the years, Abundant Life Missions Inc. has established projects that benefit a variety of causes. Our ministry opportunities give you a chance to help those who are in need in Africa.

Abundant Life Missions Christian Church

This church was dedicated to the glory of God on August 12, 2012. A new Pastor was appointed in March 2016. As the church membership continues to grow, we need to add more benches. The cost of a bench is approximately $7.

Project Living Water

Fifteen wells have been dug as of August 2017. The health status of the villagers has improved significantly, specifically the children as they now have access to clean water.

The Chief in Namatingwi Village stated that before the well was dug, there were many cases of cholera in the village. Since we dug the well, there have been only two deaths from Cholera, and the victims were people who continued to drink water from the river.

Many lives have been saved. The cost of a well is approximately $1,500. Will you help us bring clean water to another rural village to save the lives of the residents?

Women and Girls Economic Success (W.A.G.E.S.)

Tailoring

This project is designed to train older teenagers and women to become tailors. An experienced tailor is hired to teach the ladies. We purchase the sewing machines, fabric, and all necessary items during the training period.

The training program is for 3 months, after which, the students will be able to make clothes for men, women, and children. The students who successfully complete the program each earn their sewing machine which costs $125. Financing is provided by Abundant Life Missions for the graduates to start their business.

Scholarship

Education is the catalyst which empowers women in Africa. We support young ladies to start or complete secondary school (12th grade) which is not free in Malawi. Students are also sponsored for Technical College or a trade. The cost of polytechnic college is approximately $1,200 for a complete course in any trade.

Economic Empowerment

The Bicycle Project

Bicycles are purchased and donated to individuals who are interested in starting a business. The Rent A Ride business is comparable to our taxi service. The bicycle owner provides transportation to people who need assistance as they go home with their market purchases and those who need transportation to another destination.

Another possible business opportunity is when the bicycle owner goes to the lake to purchase fish which he/she brings back to the market for sale. This business is very profitable when done right.

Bicycles are also donated to pastors, so they can visit members and other villages to preach the gospel. The cost of a good bicycle is approximately $75 depending on the exchange rate.

Health Care

Health Clinics are conducted at least annually in rural villages where the people do not have the means to access health centers or hospitals. Adults and children are also treated for various conditions.

In some serious or severe conditions, it is often necessary to provide resources for the people to go to the hospital. Parasites and anemia are often evident in the children which justify the need for hospital care.

Moreover, many adults have hypertension, arthritis, and diabetes. People with AIDS and tuberculosis can also come to the health clinics. We purchase medications in Malawi to treat the aforementioned conditions/diseases. In addition, we distribute food as part of our health care program. The cost of 50 kg of beans, maize, or rice is approximately $50.
